Nella Cristianità si accresce la distanza tra Occidente ed Oriente e, come conseguenza dell'anarchia, il Vescovo di Roma è costretto ad assumere anche responsabilità civili a difesa delle popolazioni. Queste ormai non sono angosciate solo dai Longobardi, ma devono difendersi da un nemico nuovo e tremendo: l'Islam.
VII and VIII century
Christendom increases the distance between West and East and, as consequence of anarchy, the bishop of Rome is obligated to undertake public liabilities to defend peoples. In these centuries they are not anguished by Longobards only, but they have to defend by a new and awful enemy: Islam.
