Nazismo e Chiesa: von Galen e Pio XII Il vescovo di Münster, in Germania, il conte Clemens August von Galen (1878-1946), venne definito il «Leone di Münster» per la forza con cui levò la propria voce contro Hitler. Ma, pur trattandosi di una grande figura di Pastore, von Galen rappresenta nient'altro che la continua e ordinaria lotta della Chiesa contro il nazionalsocialismo; una strenua resistenza che ebbe in Pio XII il massimo «defensor civitatis». Il 9 ottobre 2005, Benedetto XVI ha proclamato beato della Chiesa il vescovo Clemens August von Galen. Nazism and Church: von Galen and Pius XII The bishop of Münster, in Germany, the Count Clemens August von Galen (1878-1946), was defined «the Lion of Münster» because of the strength of his position against Hitler. But, even if he is a great figure of pastor, von Galen represents no more than the continuous and ordinary struggle of the Church against the national socialism; a strenuous resistance that has in Pius XII the greatest «defensor civitatis». On 9 October 2005, Benedictus XVI proclaimed Blessed of the Church the bishop Clemens August von Galen.
