Nel pescatore Simone che Gesù chiama Pietro vi è qualcosa di unico, pur nella comunione con tutti gli altri apostoli. Lui sarà la roccia irremovibile sulla quale Cristo fonda la sua Chiesa. "Ti chiamerai Cefa", cioè pietra. Come può un uomo portare su di sé un compito così grande? Christianity and historicity: Simon Peter "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church". In the fisherman Simon that Jesus calls Peter there is something unique, even in the communion with all the others apostles. He will be the inflexible stone on which Christ founds his Church. "Thou shalt be called Cephas" that is stone. How can a man bring on himself such a big task?
