Il senatore dell'Arizona, Barry Morris Goldwater (1909-1998), dopo essere stato designato quale candidato repubblicano all'importante Convention del partito del 1964, non riuscì a vincere il concorrente democratico, Lyndon B. Johnson, nelle elezioni presidenziali di quell'anno. Ma Goldwater ricompattò e diede vigore al vasto e variegato mondo conservatore USA e, così, preparò l'epoca di Ronald Reagan.

The Senator of Arizona, Barry Morris Goldwater (1909-1998), after has been appointed republican candidate during the important Convention of the party in 1964, could not succeeded in winning against the democratic candidate, Lyndon B. Johnson, in the presidential election of that year. However Goldwater made compact again and gave new strength to the wide and variegated USA conservative world and, in this way, prepared the Ronald Reagan's age.
