Global Financial Crisis 2008
Those nostalgic of the New Deal have not lost the opportunity to ascribe the current financial crisis to the free market. If history has taught us something about the State intervention, then we should keep at least 2 things in mind. Firstly, any alternative to capitalism has always brought about humane, political and economical disasters. Secondly, the free market has its internal and ethical rules: if you break them you will pay the consequences.
